As a registered nurse working in a hospital, I have a particular interest in the management of cardiac arrests in the hospital setting. I believe that cardiac arrests are generally handled very poorly outside of critical care areas, needlessly losing many lives each year. I think that a big part of the solution is simply to train nurses throughout the hospital to use the defibrillators which are typically close at hand, rather than waiting for a physician or critical care nurse to arrive at the scene. I have published a number of manuscripts on this topic in professional journals; most of them are available at this site (in the "Issues" area). I would also like to publish your comments here, whether you agree or disagree. I have maintained an annotated list of significant references and relevant links on the Web, and I'll be updating it soon.
